“History” says the historical novelist Dame Hilary Mantel, “is what’s left in the sieve when the centuries have run through it.” Photographs of ancient sculptures from The British Museum are partially overprinted (55%) with blocks of black ink. The visible 45% of each image is a conceptual response to Martin Kippenberger’s average annual output of 7.45 artist’s books. The layout of this book follows on from the layout of my book ‘A’.
